In 1999, Coulter Jewell Thames worked with the Everett family to gain approval of the very first vertical mixed-use development in the Durham area. The firm then provided all site design and entitlement services to allow the completion of the first two buildings. In 2014, CJT was able to obtain a successful rezoning for an even greater density and mix of uses, with the construction of the third building soon to follow. By establishing the precedent for this portion of Erwin Road as a dense urban corridor, this development paved the way for TTA and our local elected officials to approve a light rail corridor and future station site right in front of the development.
